Comment on publications: Added publications to support the PID phenotype. There are more than three unrelated cases with C1q deficiency caused by at four pathogenic variants in C1QC.

C1q deficiency is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by recurrent skin lesions, chronic infections, and an increased risk of autoimmune diseases. C1q deficiency can be caused by homozygous mutation in the genes C1QA, C1QB, or C1QC, all of which are located on chromosome 1p36.

This gene was absent from the original PanelApp PID panel dataset (review April 2018). However it was listed in external expert immunodeficiency diagnostic gene list(s) GOSH or GRID. In this combined PID panel, this gene has been rated as AMBER and needs further curational review to assess pertinence prior to v1.
