VTRNA2-1 is a noncoding RNA of about 100 nucleotides. It has been proposed to be a component of the ribonucleoprotein vault particle (see 612695), a precursor microRNA (pre-miRNA; see 610783), and a protein kinase inhibitor that functions independently of vault particles and miRNAs (PMID 22926522).
