KCNE1 is in close proximity to the Down Syndrome Critical region (DSCR), which is triplicated in Down Syndrome, one of the features of this is Intellectual Disability. However, this gene is also linked to Brugada syndrome - a cardiac phenotype. None of the papers cited their patients as suffering from cardiac symptoms.
