PMID:22753417 (2012) reports 1 patient with severe ID in addition to classical hyperekplexia symptoms (Family 1, V-1). The patient carried a heterozygous c.2114A>G pY705C variant that was present in other hyperkplexia patients, in contrast to previously reported biallelic variants. Therefore updated MOI to 'both biallelic and monoallelic' based on the PMID:22753417 report. Additional phenotypes seen in other hyperkplexia patients included delayed motor development but currently insufficient ID cases for inclusion on diagnostic panel. Also cannot rule out possibility that an additional variant is responsible for the ID phenotype in patient V-1.
