Evidence Summary from Illumina curation team: The CD207 gene encodes the CD207 protein, also known as langerin, a cell surface C-type lectin expressed on Langerhans cells, the immature dendritic cells of the epidermis and mucosa. CD207 has a role as a pattern recognition receptor for a number of viruses including the Influenza A Virus (Ng et al. 2016), HIV-1 and HSV (reviewed by de Jong et al. 2010) and measles virus (van der Vlist et al. 2011).
